As Blythe's parents we can attest to "one fast moving year!"
We are trying to give Blythe every opportunity for a "green" start in life. Especially in the food and health care areas. It's not always easy but with the help of
friends (thank you
Auntie Geggie!) and some creative shopping we have been fairly successful. We figure a good healthy foundation is our responsibility until she can make her own informed decisions and hopefully by then it will be a much easier & convenient lifestyle (don't we all want life easier & more convenient?)!
She has grown so quickly and loves the world around her! Blythe has been walking since Christmas and is always on the go. Her little fingers busy inspecting everything she comes across including the dog! She is just now showing an interest in opening cabinets, drawers and doors. So one of our new found hobbies continues to be baby proofing EVERYTHING!
Blythe had her very first haircut in December
here by her Mommy's favorite stylist, Karen Holmes. It looks like we may be paying Karen another visit soon!

Blythe plays a lot, carefully inspecting her toys for entertainment and durability value all the while humming, talking and yelling with glee.
Her vocabulary is currently limited to "Da Da," at least that we can understand (she talks alot in her own language). The girls in our house like to talk which means soon her "Da Da" won't be able to get a word in edgewise!
Books are very big in our house too and Blythe often walks around with them. Her current favorite is "
Brown Bear Brown Bear What Do You See?" Her GrandMimi gave her this book and has read it to her so many times!
Blythe has a special rocking horse (actually a computerized pony) named "Sugar." Sugar makes pony sounds, moves her head and shakes her tail - Blythe is quite hypnotized! Grandma Connie (a great horse woman), was very excited to give Blythe this wonderful experience!
She has a couple other special toys that she particularly loves, this is one of them:

It's her "Bob's Big Boy" bank. Chewing Bob is not allowed, so her play time with him is limited to diaper changing time. It's pretty funny to watch her rock him like a little dolly!
She also LOVES this toy (squeals with delight!):
It was given to her by her special "Nanuk." I had no idea Care Bear's were so delightful and beloved by kids but Nanuk did! Nanuk is pretty special!
We will be celebrating Blythe's first birthday very soon. It was a big decision whether or not to have a "Baby Luau" (a Hawaiian style first birthday party) but we decided to wait till next year since it will take a lot of planning and apparently a cousin with a truck (we know who you are!). This is a pretty funny description of just what goes into a Baby Luau!
Blythe's very important 1st year birthday party will be on a smaller scale and has a "puppy" theme (dogs also make her squeal with delight). We know she will have a great time with her friends and family!
